The
Town of Manchester developed a policy to become active
in the area of economic development and to work in concert
with industries and land developers to create a diverse
economic base for the community. In order to capitalize
on its skilled workforce and location advantages Manchester
used a combination of flexible zoning, streamlined approval
processes, pro-active planning and financial incentives
to guide and secure development.
This
policy has resulted in two major industrial districts,
both located in northern Manchester to take advantage
of the interstate highway system. The Manchester
Business Park is a group of industrial subdivisions located
near Exit 63 off Interstate 84. The Buckland Industrial
Park is directly accessible from Interstate 291 and Interstate
