INDUSTRIAL DISTRICTS - Buckland Industrial Park
Buckland Industrial Park

In the 1970's the JC Penney Company was seeking a location for its northeastern warehouse distribution facility. The State of Connecticut and the Town of Manchester aggressively pursued the JC Penney facility and in order to provide a suitable location developed the Buckland Industrial Park.

The Buckland Industrial Park, located at the intersection of I-291 and I-84, includes over 340 acres of industrial property. Anchored by the JC Penney Warehouse Distribution Facility, it also includes a Filene's Warehouse, Hartford Distributors, and machine shops and other small manufacturers.

The Buckland Industrial Park was recently expanded, and ABA/PGT, a manufacturer of plastic gears, built a 70,000 sq.ft. facility in this new section of the park.
